Tuesday we drove north by car.
We visited Justine's uncle Jack and aunt Una in Mangonui, and stayed at a guest house there.
The next day we saw Gum Digger Museum, "Ninty Miles Beach", Kaori tree museum in Kaitaia, and the biggest tree of New Zealand in a forest on the western coast. We returned late Wednesday night

The nature was interseting to see, very fertile and green, with trees and plants totally different from Norway. Some species that we back home keep in pots indoor, were ordinary weed in New Zealand.

	In Mangonui we visited Justine's uncle Jack Dahl. Here is the view from the guest house.

	Wednesday we saw the Gum Digger Museum. About 1920 they dug amber from the bog.

	I climbed down in a pit and found some lumps of Gum.

	Not much wildlife was to be seen. But here are some wild turkeys.

	We drove southwords, and came to a fjord where we took a ferry.

	The picture is an illusion! Lise is standing 20 meters away from the tree. which was 5 meter in diameter all 40 meters up. It was 52 meter high totally.

	Thei was not the bed of the guest house - -

	We were at "Ninty Miles Beach". We drove a little further north towards Cape Reinga, but turned when there were humps and road under construction.

	We stopped in Kaitaia at a Kaori tree museum. There was a sawmill and a workshop that used the old wood found in the bog.

	We had a few drops of rain, - and a rainbow

	The terrain got more hilly, reminded of Norway

	The fjord where we crossed with a ferry.

	Gilead Cohen had a picture on the Internet of the tree. The person on this picture is though 20 meters in front of the tree, so the tree is still bigger than this picture gives impression of.
